Simit Sarayi in Russia and India

Simit Sarayi is the Turkish simit company which being in the 22 different countries in abroad. Most stores are in Saudi Arabia, this number is 37. It followed by United Kingdom with 13 stores. Simit Sarayı aims to open branches in central locations where there is a human density and also, diversity of consumer potential is wide. Traditional products are supporting the strength of Simit Sarayı in Asian countries.

Most of Simit Sarayı products consist of baked products, such as, simit, pastries, sandwiches, toasts, boreks and rolls,etc. India and Russia have the largest population in the Asia. It is a method to be followed by opening the first branch of Simit Sarayı in Mecidiyeköy, the busiest district of Istanbul. Russian cuisine culture is similar to Turkish cuisine. As well as bread and cereals products; milk, black tea, coffee and juices for breakfast are consumed by Russians. On the other hand, Indians do not have breakfast culture like Russians. Indians prefer plenty of spicy dishes, so Indians may be a stranger to most of Simit Sarayı products. At this point, Simit Sarayı can drastically change product culture strategy. Thus, we can think that Simit Sarayı is closer to enter the Asian market beginning from the Russia.

It can be said that being a Turkish brand is enough to enter the Russian market. As mentioned before, Turkish cuisine has breakfast and bakery products. Simit Sarayı’s simit and simit products support that. Russians interested in most of Turkish convenience food. Simit Sarayı’s affordability is another concurrent situation for the Russian public economy. Market area for Simit Sarayı products are located in St.Petersburg. And also there are 2 Turkish restaurants. This can create a power for Simit Sarayı. Fast-consuming food chains dominate 60% of the market and 60-70% of it belongs to international chains. Concept of Russian stores created from cakes, desserts, coffee, tea and offered seating areas. Concept of Simit Sarayı is related with Russian fast-consuming culture.

Simit with tomato and pastry with tomato can be advised. Tomato is one of the common food among Russia and Turkey. Also sugary products are preferred in Russia. This is a good chance for Simit Sarayı. That should be jam rolls, honey rolls, rolls with strawberry and cocoa. Most consumed dessert in Russia can be produced in Simit Sarayı. “Blini”, which the Russians call pancakes or crepe and  dessert with chocolate sauce and ice cream called Mereng. Also Russian egg call Faberge can be served with pastry and simit. Additionally, black tea or Russian tea are one of the indispensable drinks for Russians. They are close to Turkish cuisine culture as we thought. In a short, Simit Sarayı should enter the great Russian market, it will be successful.
