THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HUDDLE TOGETHER FOR THE JURY DECISION IN USA!
Reaction To The Jury Decision. The jury decision given to 3 police officers for the black woman Breonna Taylor, who was shot and killed in her bedroom during the police raid on the night of March 13, 2020, was met with reaction.
DEATH OF BREONNA TAYLOR
Different statements made by the police and her family about the night of the incident were met with suspicion. In the statement given by the police; Louisville police alleged that they were allowed to enter homes without notice as part of the drug operation and that Taylor’s house was also issued because of suspected drug trafficking near Breonna Taylor’s home. Police testified that they had entered by knocking on the door and that Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, had fired directly at them so they claimed that they were fighting back with fire. The suspicious part was that the police did not have chest camera recordings that night and, in a later investigation, nothing related to drugs was found at home. By her family; Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, claimed in his testimony that they were not close to the drug trafficking house and that the police burst into the house at midnight without warning or knocking, firing 10 shots randomly and for no reason. One of the elements that supported Walker’s claim was that they reached records that he called 911 that night and reported that ” Someone broke into my house and shot my girlfriend. “
THE DECISION DREW GREAT REACTION
In the trial held in Jefferson today, of the three policemen who killed Taylor, only Brett Hankinson was found guilty three times by the jury, while the other two policemen were not punished.
Taylor’s family lawyers Ben Crump, Sam Aguiar and Lonita Baker issued an announcement calling grand jury decision “outrageous and offensive to Breonna Taylor’s memory.” They said the charges “contained nothing about the murder of Breonna Taylor”.
After the decision, demonstrations against police violence were held in different states of the USA.
Louisville Metropolitan Police spokesperson announced that two policemen were shot during the demonstrations.
